Madden '08 is a great game once I figured out a little quirk that was making my defense stumble all over the place. Reading on the internet though you would think this game was worse than the first pong game. Dear lord people need to tone it down a bit methinks - the griping on the internet is intense.

Wonder why bridges are falling down or people got stuck in New Orleans or millions have to suffer without healthcare? Wonder no more.

between our great ‘defense’ companies (what a laughable friggin name when we invade sovereign countries) and our energy companies I think America may have problems for years to come unless we can break away from them influencing our national policies and spending priorities.

Ted Haggard - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Just got an email here at work that reminded me of this silly hypocritical dude. I hate to laugh at others' downfall, but man it seems some people have at least a little chuckle headed their way.

Dude,
No one has said it yet, but welcome buddy. Seems even 60 minutes man wanted to treat you as the antichrist right away. I wouldn't welcome you to dinner my friend, but please do enjoy the best country in the world. I know a lot of our citizens are acting like what you say or think really matters, but I don't really care dude. I like it that you have decided to come visit the best country in the world. It's an honor and enjoy it and I do apologize that some of these folks seem to want to treat you as a bitch right away.

Regards, me

Report: U.S. climate research in danger - Climate Change - MSNBC.com

Report: U.S. climate research in danger - Climate Change - MSNBC.com: "WASHINGTON - The U.S. government's climate change research is threatened by spending cuts that will reduce scientists' observations from space and on the ground, according to scientists commissioned by the research agency to analyze its workings. 'Knowledge of climate variability and change rests on consistent long-term observations that are broadly disseminated and archived for future generations of scientists,' they said in a report Thursday. A major problem, the panel said, is the U.S. Climate Change Research Program director's lack of authority to organize spending and research among the 13 different agencies that study the impacts of climate."

Greenspan Concedes Mortgage Dilemma

Greenspan Concedes Mortgage Dilemma

Former Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan acknowledges he failed to see early on that an explosion of mortgages to people with questionable credit histories could pose a danger to the economy.

If we take him and Gonzalez (and others in our government) at their word, which I don't, we really have some real dolts running the shop because this was brutally apparent to ME years ago - like around 2003 or earlier though it looks like I started writing/linking about it around 2005. Trust me when I say that me and my buddy had passionate discussions about this topic - he of the mind that the affect would be localized and not affect the bay area and me of the mind that the shit storm would affect us all in some way (but that some real estate would be safer than others).

Anyway, my rambling point is this: fuck we have dumb 'leaders' and now it seems they use their dumbness as a valid excuse! WTF.

Just listening to Howard and even these folks, making great money, are talking about how tough our healthcare situation is. Let me say this: I am amazed how much I hear about our healthcare system and how bad it really is. Our society is telling you, without saying it, don't you fucking get sick.

It coincides with a thought I had over the past two days and that is that our society as a whole seems to be almost autistic. I have read before how sometimes our society as a whole acts pathological (dammnit, cant find the link) and I guess those points do make sense but really I think it is more in the former category. For instance so many of our parts can act so good and do so many good things but sometimes as a whole we act so detached and unemotional. For instance Scott DePace from Howard telling BaBa that his mom should have planned better for her medical problems. I don't think you can have one without the other really - that Scott saying these things is not natural for an emotional animal such as ourselves, but our collective sometimes so implies these things that it is easy to lose our way individually.

We should work to change this and work to have our eyes and hearts open as an individual and as a collective. It is not easy, but it is one root of many problems and one that we can address in many ways instead of going the opposite way as we have been recently.

ESPN - Bears lose starters Brown, Dvoracek for season - NFL: "Fearing the worst, Brown, 29, was emotionally distraught in the Chicago locker room on Sunday evening, after injuring his knee with 10 minutes remaining in the game. He called the injury 'another sad day in the chapter of my football career.'"

Mike,
You have been an inspiration how you have fought against your injuries and come back each time - sorry to hear about this recent set back. I know that better days are ahead for you. Best wishes.

Bin Laden tape assails Democrats on Iraq - Politics - MSNBC.com

Bin Laden tape assails Democrats on Iraq - Politics - MSNBC.com

Hello Mr. Curry,

Hope all is well. I wanted to write in to communicate that while I do live in the bluest of blue states and while I find Osama an evil POS I personally think you may misread the situation as well and that situation is this: there is HUGE discontent by me personally and I think many others that our government, whether red/blue, right/left, or right/wrong is totally detached from the people and the voters not just in regards to Iraq, but so many issues. I daresay there is perhaps a revolutionary feel in the air due to the fact that what seems so very apparent – that the 2006 elections were meant to send a message peacefully – has gone totally unheeded by our government and it has been business as usual.

While I appreciate your attention to details in the article (e.g. I did not know the voting breakdowns) I do hope the larger point is not lost and that is this: that much of the nation is totally fed up with the current status quo and is looking for truth (e.g. what is our mission in Iraq, why are we looking menacingly at Iran, why do we not have the cleaner vehicles that Europe has let alone the very best, cleanest technologies in the world and why are people around me going bankrupt due to healthcare concerns) and action and much less of the current status quo.

Thanks and have a good weekend

Tiger, Els complain about PGA Tour playoffs - Golf - MSNBC.com

Tiger, Els complain about PGA Tour playoffs - Golf - MSNBC.com

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! We have to work four weeks in a row (or something like that)!

On the other hand I do wonder if the PGA is over exposing itself a bit - ask 50 cent bout that.

Ok, here it is: I am now in my fourth decade on this spinning, whirling bubble. Have I taken this fact well? No, not really. But to just vent a bit here because I don't know much where else to send this:

I wish I had my sister back. I am done with the weird chick who sends me birthday cards with the whole 'have a blessed day' thing or whatever. Where have you gone sis?

I wonder about damn near my whole extended family on my mom's side. Are you all just totally jealous bitches or what is your major malfunction you fucks? Pull it together and start treating your family decently for chrissakes. I know that we are physically distant from each other but does that mean that we have to be emotionally and spiritually and soulfully distant from each other more so than I am with the nice lady at Baja Fresh? (Btw, you are very nice to say hi to me all the time and remember my name and I am an ass for not learning your name yet.) Have I not taken enough steps to be close to all you distant cold fucks? To sum up: fuck you.

Ok, on the bright side:

I am so thankful for having an awesome grandpa in my life now - Sir, I love ya. Not sure if you know what you mean to me, but suffice it to say I never had a grandpa before that I knew and you have really filled that hole in my life.

I am thankful to have so many friends so close to me and that I think we would all do anything for each other.

I am thankful for a great woman in my life and a funny little cat who crawls into the TV stand (did you want to get to that wrench set that was on the ground? Cause, if so: great success!) and a vocal lil pup who isn't little anymore.

I am thankful for great family members - some close to home, some far away and some just jet setting, but all close to my heart.
