ESPN - Woods: Shutter snap at No. 9 halted momentum - Golf

ESPN - Woods: Shutter snap at No. 9 halted momentum - Golf

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! Honestly I have a ton of respect for the dude and what he does on the golf course and I would not like someone making noise during my swing but seriously sometimes all people and especially Woods seem to take himself and these bullshit games we play way too seriously. Yea, you are getting paid more money than god to hit a little ball around due to our fucked up societal priorities but I am not sure this makes you better than some shlub taking a pic my friend nor in a position to yell obscenities at a whole crowd of those who help make you who you are.

So, on their behalf:

Wa wa wa.

Nathan

Nathan

I kinda sound smart here. Unfortunately this may have been one of the posts/emails I sent that drove the stake in the heart of my relationship with my uncle.

Question of the day: when did health club folks turn into used car salesmen? My former club wants me back cause my thing lapsed after a year away from my previous job or whatever and so I just sent back: how much well 3 LONG voicemails later and about 5 emails later they have not answered this question (with me only sending that one email asking price)

its like seriously, this is not magic or rocket science here: just tell me the cost to swim in your dirty pool

Bill Maher: The 100 Years War - Politics on The Huffington Post

Bill Maher: The 100 Years War - Politics on The Huffington Post: "What about that is not a success, by neocon standards? I've been scoffing at it for so long that think I missed the point. It's not a question of if the surge is working -- it's about whom it's working for."

Thank you Bill - great point. Honestly I have made this same point myself to different people, but not stated as well as you have stated it here. It has been a massive success... for very few of us.

Mr. Obama’s Profile in Courage - New York Times

Mr. Obama’s Profile in Courage - New York Times: "he raised the discussion to a higher plane."

So true. As Stewart said said last night: he talked to us like adults.

Truly sorry that I cannot be there with you physically because the answer is: no. Absolutely no, it was not worth it. For now I will use this to say this:

I am sorry that this ever happened. I remember around 6 years ago now and my heart dropping in my chest when I realized that Bush was going after Iraq no matter what. It really hurt then and frankly it is a bit sad, but my rage has lessened a bit now and perhaps changed into something else: hope. True hope that things can change and that a cleansing wave of renewal is coming.

Thank you, best wishes and you are in my thoughts: to all of you who have served in this American disaster. God bless to all of you Iraqis who have had to deal with our mistake directly.

msnbc.com video: Obama delivers major speech on race

msnbc.com video: Obama delivers major speech on race

I am inclined to joke and say he cemented my man crush on him, but I will not. I will say: he is legend and this speech will go down in history books for all time.

Bush, Praising Fed’s Intervention, Faces Criticism - New York Times

Bush, Praising Fed’s Intervention, Faces Criticism - New York Times: "As President Bush welcomed the Federal Reserve’s sweeping intervention in the financial markets, his administration faced accusations Monday that it supported the bailout of a prestigious investment bank while doing little to address the hardships faced by Americans facing foreclosures on their homes."

Boy talk about a way to sugar coat the situation. Paragraph re-written by a family in Stockton, CA:

President Bush sat down with some very rich people to talk about their nice weekend while we sat here wondering how the fuck we are going to get through the next month let alone next year. Have you seen just bread and milk costs let alone what it costs to drive to San Francisco now!? Thanks asshole.

TPMMuckraker | Talking Points Memo | Today's Must Read

TPMMuckraker | Talking Points Memo | Today's Must Read: "'It is unprecedented and an unlawful act of political interference for the president personally to override a decision that the Clean Air Act leaves exclusively to EPA's expert scientific judgment,' said John Walke, clean-air director for the Natural Resources Defense Council."

Meanwhile it seems that China has all ready got to the level of air pollution that Bush Co. wants?

A random thought popped into my mind that for all he and his ilk fight against 'extremists' it really does seem on a lot of levels, but most especially in regards to environmental protection, that the extremes are in the mirror.

TPMMuckraker | Talking Points Memo | Waxman: Evidence Shows EPA Stonewalling on Greenhouse Gas Rule

Waxman: Evidence Shows EPA Stonewalling on Greenhouse Gas Rule: "Last week, we noted that Johnson seemed to be ignoring a decision by the Supreme Court. The Court said the EPA could no longer avoid deciding whether greenhouse gases were pollutants covered by the Clean Air Act. But almost one year later, Johnson still hasn't released an official determination."

This is very frustrating of course but sadly part of a large pattern going on.

So last night I walked off the basketball court like a spark plug. Not like one spark plug but like 1000 spark plugs lighting on fire. I try, but honestly it is hard to explain exactly how I felt in that situation.

To begin the game I took a 3 pointer to get possession. I made it. With my eyes closed. It kept going from there. Difficult reverse layups. Long, long three pointers. It was a fun time.

'The Wire' - Los Angeles Times

'The Wire' - Los Angeles Times: "It was a sad and lovely finale, with poignant images of Baltimore and its people; there was some shooting -- Michael's a thug now, the drug wars continue -- and even some singing, at a fake wake for McNulty. Finales are difficult, and this one was as good as they get, satisfying, yet no sledgehammers. But it wasn't the same, not without Snoop, who seemed the strange, unquiet heart of a great, unquiet show."

I guess I liked this review above better than this one because that is how I want to remember it and how I will remember it. Snoop, RIP.

Hello,
I wanted to take a quick moment to just express how much I like and appreciate Senator Obama's integrity even in the face of questionable tactics by your opposition. I know that in the press there is always an ebb and flow combined with interesting narratives that have no basis in reality but to me the core narrative right now is: Senator Obama is an extremely high integrity individual who is trying to do his best by his country and his fellow countryman.

Keep up the good work.

Oil Hits $104 as OPEC Rebuffs Bush - New York Times

Oil Hits $104 as OPEC Rebuffs Bush - New York Times: "OPEC rebuffed its top consumer, arguing that the world was well supplied with oil and blaming financial speculators and mismanagement of the United States economy for the current high prices."

Boy talk about a dealer telling a junky off eh?

Show Tracker - TV News - Los Angeles Times

Show Tracker - TV News - Los Angeles Times: "'Watching a TV drama to get the truth, that's the real joke,' Simon added."

Maybe sounds a bit pompous, but makes some great points and perhaps the greatest show ever. Can't wait to get the full blu-ray set.

It is foolish and childish, on the face of it, to affiliate ourselves with anything so insignificant and patently contrived and commercially exploitive as a professional sports team, and the amused superiority and icy scorn that the non-fan directs at the sports nut (I know this look -- I know it by heart) is understandable and almost unanswerable. Almost. What is left out of this calculation, it seems to me, is the business of caring -- caring deeply and passionately, really caring -- which is a capacity or an emotion that has almost gone out of our lives. And so it seems possible that we have come to a time when it no longer matters so much what the caring is about, how frail or foolish is the object of that concern, as long as the feeling itself can be saved. Naivete -- the infantile and ignoble joy that sends a grown man or woman to dancing and shouting with joy in the middle of the night over the haphazardous flight of a distant ball -- seems a small price to pay for such a gift.

Great quote and a great point. It is really hard to defend paying so much attention, time and money towards sports, especially professional sports and their athletes, but at the same time it makes so much sense in a base level way. Anyhow, this quote says it much better than me.

Just a quick assorted random points:

Go Obama and please get out of the race Hillary. Its over.

I am very excited as I do feel like things are turning in our coming green revolution despite all the best efforts of the rich and powerful. Don't miss this - California sets all the trends of the world don't you know?

At the same time I think doing like some of the folks we saw on TV: eating only free food you find and whatnot, is going a little too far. A lot too far.

The Chi Bulls really suck. Dear lord. Then I also watched the Lakers (to watch them lose as I hate them as much as I like the Bulls) and they won. Not my day for watching pro sports. I take back that quote on second thought.

UPDATE: Also meant to say that you gotta watch the Wire any way you can. Great show and last night was perhaps the best ever.
