ESPN - NBA has no quick fix for Donaghy's fixing charges - NBA

ESPN - NBA has no quick fix for Donaghy's fixing charges - NBA: "It doesn't matter how many times David Stern squares his feet and starts launching his go-to denials.

It doesn't matter how often the NBA's commissioner sternly assures us the U.S. Attorney's Office and the FBI soon will reveal findings that show Tim Donaghy, without doubt, is the 'only one here that's guilty of criminal activity.'

It probably won't even matter now if The Rogue Ref, as Stern famously dubbed him, is proven conclusively to be just what The Commish says he is."

As the famous movie (to me) said it best: '...it came from outside high walls and fancy gates; it comes from a place you know about maybe from the movies. But I come from out there, and everybody out there knows, everybody lies: cops lie, newspapers lie, parent's lyin'. The one thing you can count on - word on the street... yeah, that's solid.' And Mr. Stern the word on the street: the NBA is fixed.

You need to fix that. The game is too beautiful for it to be ruined by that.

FOXNews.com - My Tips for Barack Obama - Neil Cavuto | Your World

FOXNews.com - My Tips for Barack Obama - Neil Cavuto | Your World

My tips for Cavuto: do your own job with even a mediocre passing grade before trying to tell others how to do theirs. Dear lord man this country needs honest, good newsmen and you are writing bullshit like:

All I'm saying, senator, is be real, but respect your inner elitist. Just don't rub it in our faces.

You sir are a fucking idiot which I don't think is a tip, but take it for what its worth.

Obama Deals With Economy and McCains Views - The Caucus - Politics - New York Times Blog

Obama Deals With Economy and McCains Views - The Caucus - Politics - New York Times Blog: "“During just three years in the U.S. Senate, Barack Obama has already voted 94 times for higher taxes,” Mr. Bounds said in a statement. “Barack Obama doesn’t understand the American economy and that’s change we just can’t afford.”"

I really hope that the American people don't fall for this bullshit this go round. If you would like to in fact have a meaningful conversation helpful to the American people please engage on the points and discuss the issue at hand instead of what seems to be the Republican's fall back: attack the person or slogan with tired 'points' about raising taxes. Stupid.

From 2004 (and how did it turn out?):

While these economic estimates are likely to change as Senator Kerry announces more details about his tax plan, they strongly indicate the weakness of his current approach. Raising taxes on high-income taxpayers to cover budget shortfalls may make political sense, but it is not the right move to encourage economic growth. Senator Kerry’s new tax revenues divert capital from better economic uses, which slows the growth in productivity that usually stems from new investment. Job and income growth suffer as a consequence.

ESPN: Chat with Bill Simmons - SportsNation

ESPN: Chat with Bill Simmons - SportsNation: "The car flags are amazing. I can't say enough about them. It's the all time yahoo move."

I could not agree more. I am not sure what the statement is supposed to be with the whole car flag thing but it is really terrible. Bumper stickers not enough anymore? Luckily this is a southern california thing.
