The sun has started going down quicker now. The summer is past. In the rearview mirror we can see the glint of the sun on the pool and remember the fun we had and the times we shared, but unfortunately now when we get home there is only darkness. The pools don’t shine and there may be rain in the morning.
But let us not let the dreariness into our house or into our hearts. It isn’t always easy. It seeps in when we can’t go have a picnic somewhere like we wanted to or when we want to go to the beach but can’t or when we can’t play (or learn) golf like we should be doing here in sunny? California. We are like the flowers, we are like the trees: we breathe the same air and bask in the same light but sometimes we have to remember that even though the light isn’t around we can still bloom and be beautiful.
“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”
-Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
Let us both try to shine that light longer and brighter.
