President of Fabricated Crises (washingtonpost.com): "But when historians look back at the Bush presidency, they're more likely to note that what sets Bush apart is not the crises he managed but the crises he fabricated. The fabricated crisis is the hallmark of the Bush presidency. To attain goals that he had set for himself before he took office -- the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, the privatization of Social Security -- he concocted crises where there were none. "
Harold Meyerson.
Seems he is a pretty left leaning guy (wrote for the Prospect), but I just thought it was an interesting point. Especially in light of yesterday's news about the WMD search being ended before Christmas.
With the way that things were being talked about, and the way we acted, you would have thought long range ballistic missles with nuclear warheads were locked on our silos and ready at a moments notice to fire. I am extremely disappointed that no one has had to take responsibility for these misguided actions and statements.
