Ames Tribune: "But all tomatoes aside, global warming is real. The speaker, Gene Takle, professor of atmospheric science and professor of agricultural meteorology at Iowa State University, presented research documenting the correlation between carbon dioxide concentration and average temperature over many thousands of years. Every model he presented showed that since the dawn of the industrial age, the concentration of carbon dioxide has been grown exponentially. Already - vis a vis Iowa's growing season or the fact that Lake Mendota in Madison, Wis., is clear of ice for an addition month each year - the carbon dioxide trend is reflected in average temperatures."
