Here is what I think: things are not going badly at all. Things are going exactly according to plan. Money is being made and permanent bases are being established. For those in power and those with the means, this is a long war. They are fighting it so the future Exxon CEO's and shareholders and monkeys behind the curtain have oil in the ground and power within their grasp. Repeat: things are going just perfectly for a wealthy few. Just perfect otherwise you might see some changes right? You would not see the corporate class and pundit class still rallying around this war resident. You would see a blue dress or you would hear a whitewater tale being told.
As sad as the carnage and lives lost and damage done to countries and hearts and minds and limbs... it matters not to the select few who are engineering things right now.
